The construction works in the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport, which was awarded with a proposal value of approximately $4.5 billion, is the largest tender won by the Turkish contracting sector in a single package abroad.
More than 100,000 tons of steel and more than 1,000,000 cubic meters of concrete will be used for the construction of the project which has a total construction area of 708,000 square meters.
Relying on Pi Makina’s quality and experience for manufacturing of this concrete volume, the contractor company preferred Pi Makina’s Concrete Batching Plants which are 100% domestic production. Each of the plants in the PI 180 BTS and PI 180 BTS-X model series produces 180m3 of concrete per hour. There are 8 cement silos and 2 silica silos in the concrete plant that is powered by 2 twin shaft mixers of 4.5 m3, which provide the most homogeneous mixture and increase the efficiency of the system.
Pi Makina’s Concrete Batching Plants produce K400 concrete, which is exceedingly difficult to produce in the face of Kuwait's climatic conditions but should be used in airport constructions, without problems.
