The Company established its new factory in 2016 to expand the capacity of the first factory it established in 1972 and to create a mass production line in certain product groups. Pi Makina’s Factory, established in Golbasi district of Ankara province, continues today as one of the rare companies operated with 100% domestic capital in Turkey with production halls situated over a total working area of 800,000m2 in 2 different compounds. Since its establishment, the Company has managed to create a production process in which it reconstructs its products according to the prevailing circumstances of the day by closely following technological developments to not compromise on the quality it offers in the machines and equipment it manufactures. It serves as a complete facility that accommodates almost any manufacturing methods thanks to its highly skilled and dynamic R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control Departments, as well as workshops such as Machining, Gear Manufacturing, Heat treatment, Pattern Shop, Coating, Painting and Sandblasting. The company provides responses for the needs of the sector in an extremely wide product range spanning from concrete batching plants to concrete pumps, tower cranes to crushing and screening plants, backhoe loaders to excavators, strong, efficient, and reliable heavy equipment and construction machinery, as well as on-road and off-road vehicles. In addition, powertrains such as intermediate transmissions, differentials, gear boxes and front-rear axle manufacturing can be manufactured for the market with superior gear design and manufacturing capabilities. Moreover, PI Makina has successfully completed turnkey complete industrial facilities based on steel construction such as thermal power plants, permanent dam equipment, oil drilling facilities and many special defense industries projects by virtue of the facility clearance certificates.

Heat Treatment

Pi Makina heat treatment plant has been providing service with its state-of-the-art technology new furnaces and workbenches since 2006. It has carried on its investments and increased his capacity in line with the requirements until today. Requested values are obtained and recorded by the simulation program used in the computer-aided atmosphere controlled furnaces. Thus, operations carried out in the past can be repeated without any problem. Temperature calibrations and temperature distribution tests are regularly carried out each year. Exact and homogeneous temperature is provided for each operation. Hardening by CNC controlled high frequency induction and all operations carried out in our straightening press machines are recorded and repeated. Our heat treatment investment is enriched with our computer-aided plasma nitration furnace. All processes are controlled by our fully-equipped laboratories and detailed reporting is made at the end of process.

Gear Plant

Spur and Helical (Internal and External) Gears, Spur Conical and Spiral Conical Gears may be shaped in our Gear Plant. They’re manufactured by being hardened by Case Hardening, Induction and Nitration; as Grinded or Scraped; having passed Magnetic Particle Test (Crack control); in accordance with the DIN, AGMA and ISO standards. All notions of gears are evaluated by CNC aided Gear Shapers and delivered to the customer in the quality requested by the customer as reported.

Quality Control

Various dimensional measurements; material quality determination by spectral analyzer; macro and micro hardness traverses after heat treatment; tensile, bending and crash (impact) tests for determination of mechanical properties of materials; thickness measurements after coating-painting processes are carried out within the structure of Quality Control Laboratory. Surface cracks can be examined by magnetic test method after case and inductive hardening processes which are surface hardening processes; ultrasonic examination technique is used for detection of material internal defects within the scope of non-destructive testing processes.
