Deriner Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is built on Coruh River of Artvin province and the largest dam in Turkey and the 3rd largest in the world with a body height of 249 meters, has been acclaimed as an “Engineering Wonder” by the world-famous documentary channel Discovery Channel.
Pi Makina, which has manufactured most of the machines employed during its construction and any steel construction, has produced 360m2 concrete per hour, which is considered the highest capacity in the world for a dam, and has manufactured many machines such as the world's largest crushing and screening plant, concrete pumps, dozers, loaders, cylinders, wired crane, aggregate plant and ice plant.
The dam, which was built with a double curvature arch double-depth dam system requiring high engineering calculations and employed 1200 people, including 60 engineers and 120 technical staff, was put into operation on 12.12.2012.
